Maneouvres of SITN in Kaprun

In the period of 8 - 15 November 2003 the members of the Association of Ski Instructors and Coaches of PZN have been gathering on a traditional ski training in Austrian Alps. The exercises were conducted on the glacier Kitzsteinhorn.

The instructors and lecturers were "warming up ", improving the evolutions show from the Teaching Program, took part in a giant slalom training and in a test in this sport contest. The evolution references were established, and the video films were recorded on-line during the practice. Also the Examining Board spent its time hard-working on the glacier. The "training" of assessment the style skiing was conducted two times.

During the stay in Kaprun there was also a meeting with Walter Kuchler, a remarkable skier, specializing in teaching the skiing on modern, carving ski.

He conducted a lecture on the history of skiing and made an interesting lesson in carving in the form of amusement training, enriching it with anecdotes and a great deal of humor. By the way of lectures this superb theorist and practice expert of skiing gave an excellent show of skiing and advised how to make the pupils laugh and encourage them to further training if they are sometimes bored with the drilling of obligatory ski evolutions :))

The weather turned out to be good - full sun through five days. Only one day was with fog. The ski routes on the glacier were prepared very well. A big attraction were the man-made snow ski routes among the rocks, under the glacier (the guns were operated almost non-stop).
